I'd never seen the options for Fem!Shep's face as I'd gotten into the games after the vote. I'm a bit miffed that they felt the need to boil it down to Miss Alliance 2186.
Hahahaha. And when asked why the original default was not even an option, BioWare remained silent c: bunch of a+ peeps there sometimes.

I believe the anon is referring to the green eyes and red hair (in addition to, of course, the skin colour).Remotely similar? You mean White, because that’s the only thing that’s similar between the ME1/2 default Sheps compared to this one.
I might be giving too much credit here, but I have to give the fans some props for picking one that was at least remotely similar to the original compared to some of the other choices.
Fair point! John is clearly created to look like a soldier, a fighter who has seen the worst of this war, while ME3!Jane is… not. I am not bashing her appearance, here, but I think we must agree that her face has not been designed on the same grounds.and me3 jane has a ridiculous amount of makeup and LOOKS like a beauty contest winner whereas dude!shep has always been tough and rugged and i mean THEYRE THE SAME PERSON COME ON BIOWARE
" refuse to support ME3 jane because of the sexism tied to her" which sexism is that may I ask?
Thanks for asking! For future reference though, the answer to this question can be found in our FAQ. But I’ll pretty much summarize here for you, because it’s relevant to current conversation.
If you’ll remember with me, the Jane found in our ME1 and ME2 caps is the Original Default Jane. She wasn’t graced with face-mapping technology, but she was still Jane. She’s obviously got the face of a soldier. But in ME3, we see a NEW Jane, a Jane that came from what generally was a beauty contest.

This was how we were to choose who was the new face of our beloved commander.
You can read more about the subject here, here, here, here, here, and finally here.
Thanks for asking and wanted to know our opinions. You have every right to like ME3 Jane, hell, I still reblog edits that contain her, but I think it’s important to realize BioWare’s bad decisions.
All my love, Ashley

QUICKLY ADDING TO THIS THOUGH ASHLEY’S REPLY IS PERFECT -. 1. deciding that one Shepard is interchangeable while the other one isn’t is awful & sexist in itself and 2. PUTTING COMMANDER FUCKING SHEPARD IN A BEAUTY PAGEANT WILL NEVER CEASE TO OUTRAGE ME.
It’s totes cool to like ME3!Jane but don’t ignore the problematic elements here ok? ok ♥
(I’d be more eloquent but I have been in the past, as you can see via the links, and Ash p much covered that so)
Kisses! - Celeste
I don’t know if you guys noticed, but… Celeste and I are very strong feminists (i mean come on the description even tells you about how we refuse to support ME3 jane because of the sexism tied to her), so this is an Official Notification in regards to any sexism you want to add to any of the caps posted here… Don’t.
Thanks, cuties!

Rape…. rape everywhere
How the fuck did you come to the conclusion that that would be an acceptable thing to write? Is rape a thing you feel you can joke about?
